Steve Gordon

Iowa City real estate is a family tradition for Steve Gordon. His grandfather was a long time realtor in the area and from a young age, Steve shared his grandfather’s interest in real estate. A lifelong resident of Iowa City and a 1998 graduate of the University of Iowa, Steve started his career at Hills Bank. As a Vice President, he worked with homebuyers, builders and developers.

After many years at the bank on the lending side of the desk, Steve had the opportunity to partner with a local developer and together they started with AM Management in 2001. Steve brings experience from many different angles into his development business and is excited and passionate about continuing the family tradition of bringing families and their homes together.

Steve is excited to help build the Sycamore neighborhoods where you can walk to several parks, enjoy your kids playing soccer, baseball or softball, golf, fish, swim, scuba dive, bike or enjoy a quite walk in solitude. All of this while only being minutes from Downtown Iowa City and Interstate 380.

Brad Houser

Brad is another Iowa City native and real estate veteran whose personal experience has heightened his interest in developing the south side of Iowa City.

“The opportunity to develop in the south district is very exciting for me for several reasons.  Not only do I get to partner with lifelong friends and associates, I also have the opportunity to change part of the area where I grew up. As a child growing up here – learning how to ride a bike, fishing in the ponds, and swimming and playing outside with neighborhood friends – I had a great start in life. I believe the south district is a great, affordable location where you have access to so many amenities in the area; like the biking and walking trails, fishing ponds, kayaking, a golf course, numerous youth actives, new schools, and more. I look forward to making this area a fantastic place for families to create their own amazing memories.”

AM Management – The Group Behind Sycamore Developments

The team at AM Management has been a part of the Iowa City real estate development scene for over 30 years. During that time, they have developed, built, rented and sold thousands of units. Their offerings run the real estate gamut from apartments, condominiums, and townhomes to single family homes, manufactured housing, student and senior complexes. You’ll also find AM Management properties in Ohio as well.

AM Management first built in the South District of Iowa City with the Saddlebrook development. Dedicated to the concept of city living in the country, the tradition continues now with Sycamore Developments. As one of AM Management’s larger developments, Saddlebrook originally contained 420 acres. Over the years, an additional 70 acres was acquired. To preserve the natural beauty of the area, over 200 acres of the original area was set aside in conservation easements or acquired by the city for wetland preservation, parkland and trails.

With over 200 protected acres that can never be built on, residents of the Saddlebrook and Sycamore neighborhoods can rest assured that this area will remain an oasis in Iowa City. Close enough to enjoy all that Iowa City has to offer yet surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful Iowa countryside, the dreams for these unique developments are being realized each and every day.
